Trivia
I've hosted more than 650 trivia nights since 2017. Some are weekly pub games with familiar teams. Others are private parties, fundraisers, themed events, or music games. The format may change, but the job is the same: make the game fun and keep it moving.
Good trivia needs good questions, but that's only part of it. A host controls the pace of the night, explains what's happening without overexplaining it, handles the unexpected, works the room, and keeps scores and breaks from turning into dead time.
That's the part you learn after hundreds of nights doing it.
Weekly trivia works best when regular teams want to come back but somebody walking in for the first time can still jump right in. I aim for a game that's competitive without taking itself too seriously, with enough variety that everybody at the table gets a chance to know something.

Trivia works just as well away from the bar. Birthdays, company events, fundraisers, club events, and private parties can all become a game built around the people in the room.
